GOD CAN MARSHAL HELP IN YOUR DIRECTION BECAUSE “HE SEES”

My taste buds are African. I don't do pizza. The nearest African store to us was 20 miles away. One day we went shopping. We agreed one of the boys would stay with me outside the store while the other would go with Mama. This way, we could dodge impulse buys-otherwise, the moment they see something shiny, it's game over, and that's when they are not fighting or running around. Preteens! Aletheia decided to be my buddy, and we went on a stroll.

Right outside the store, we spotted a tunnel designed for crossing the busy road. The view was clear, and there wasn't a soul in sight. Aletheia turned to me and asked if he could race to the other side and back. Why not? It was empty, and I had a clear view of him. I nodded yes, and he sprinted off, while I kept my eyes glued on him. Suddenly, he disappeared from my sight! Panic surged through me. I dashed forward like a cheetah on steroids. Screaming his name. "Aletheia!" My mind was swirling with frantic scenarios. What if...? "God forbid!", I retorted. My heart switching to scripture mode, "My lot is maintained; my children are preserved! Great is their peace" 'Aletheia!', I called again. This time he answered. Faintly. A distant echo. I ran towards his voice. Unknown to me, he had veered into an adjacent tunnel. He didn't think it would bother me. I was glad he was safe. As I caught my breath, I explained - please don't go where I can't see you. I can't keep you safe if I can't see you.

This got me thinking about how Paul said that anyone in Christ is now ever "before God in love" (Ephesians 1:4). Always visible to him. In fact, the Old Testament name of God - Jehovah Jireh that Abraham called him after the lamb was substituted for his son does not mean God provides. It means 'God sees. He provides because he sees. He keeps because he sees. He sees me. He sees my struggles, anticipations, hopes, proclivities, and tendencies, and he can marshal help in my direction, because he sees.

Take a deep breath! You are seen, and that's something to cherish. So, take a moment to whisper, "Lord, I thank you for seeing me."
